One of my clients is Dr. Stephanie Rimka of Folly Beach and Atlanta.  I’ve helped Stephanie with computer problems in the past and have provided her some basic search engine optimization work for the business website she developed called Brain & Body Solutions in Atlanta.

Dr. Stephanie’s very knowledgeable and is a good writer.  She’s so good, she started running into issues with other doctor’s “borrowing” her content and passing it off as their own on their respective websites.  Stephanie called me for advice and I told her to consider sending a DMCA takedown notice to each of the ISPs that are hosting the offending websites.

There are lots of articles on DMCA takedown notices, how to draft them and what to say.  Here’s a decent writeup I recommended Dr. Stephanie along with this other writeup I liked.

Part II of this post will tell you what you can try to do to proactively seek out content grabbers and keep them at bay.  Stay tuned.
