I’m an Ipod user who bought on the cusp when Apple was transitioning to 4G;  there we’re too many good deals.  I broke down and purchased an iPod 3G at Costco in Charleston; it’s useful for looking stuff up quickly like deals on computer equipment or parts or business software for my clients.

My issue with the iPod is it’s so small and easily misplaced; at my last computer support meeting at an office in West Ashley, two folks asked about device security; one asked if there was a way of tracking their iPad in case it’s misplaced or stolen.

Apple’s “Find my iPhone” Service works on all generations of iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad; free activation is available for modern gen. devices such as:  4g iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.  If you’re a previous gen. user (2g/3g/3gs, etc.) you may activate this service for free using any of the aforementioned modern gen. devices listed above – to do this, use YOUR iTunes account; once you’re activated, you can legitimately install/run the service on your older gen device.  If you’re a beginner, I recommend activating this at the downtown Charleston Apple Store.
